Babysitting the DeGraffenrieds

So may I just say 6 little children in one house sure know how to make a mess in a few split seconds! But we had lots of fun doing it! And now that I am writing this I wish I would have taken pictures... Well, you win some you lose some.. we  started out the night making our own personal pizzas Brooklyn made hers look like a flower, Noah made his a jack 'o lantern, Anna made a mountain of olives with another mountain on top made of cheese :) it was probably 3 inches tall  haha, and Maycee would put a few olives on then eat them, put a few more on then eat them, and so on... Anyways while they cooked we watched "MegaMind" and continued watching while we ate. After we ate we went to the basement and attempted to make a huge fort out of cardboard and duct tape but apparently duct tape is not strong enough to hang cardboard from the ceiling so instead we made a "Human Spider Alien" (in Noah's words) and a tunnel with a tower on top... Well, cardboard and duct tape can only be fun for so long, so, we went back upstairs. We realized when we went upstairs that we had left some pizza in the oven(when I say we I  mean me) they were just about cooked to ashes...oops :) oh well. We then played "Sardines" which is kinda hard when the kids are too scared to wander off by themselves but it was still fun.. and surprisingly Chloe and Maycee actually had fun playing in the dark with us :).. We are so grateful for those kids they bring a lot of joy into our lives.. Anyway it was a fun night and Noah I am sorry Maycee ripped all the pages out of your little notebook.

Motherhood for me

I always wonder if I can be better..Don't we all :) Some days I feel like all I do is change poopy diapers and clean up mess after mess! Then at the end of the day there is still piles of laundry and a sink full of dirty dishes! The next day seems to be going better..until nap time, kids wont take a nap for one reason or another. So I end up holding at least one kid for the majority of the day(sometimes it is both). Part of me really enjoys these days because they will let me hold them, but it is really hard to get anything done. I am not a "Super Mom" like a lot of moms that I know, so that day comes to an end with laundry still to fold and even more dishes then the day before...but, I choose to snuggle up on the coach with my husband and watch a movie :). I will clean tomorrow. Morning comes way to soon the kids decide to sleep in so I get an extra long shower:) The morning goes smoothly, both kids are more than happy to take naps today. Ah. I get the laundry folded and all the dishes done and have time to get dinner started early..Now if only every day could go that smoothly ha ha if only I was that lucky! Yes I complain sometimes and yes I get exhausted. Like I said before I am not a "Super Mom". I would never ever change anything though. Being a mom is my dream come true! I love my kiddos with all of my heart and although I may not be perfect I love being a mom. Maybe some day I can be a "Super Mom" :) until that day I will just be the best I can!

Morning after...

What a perfect night for Halloween! The weather was great, you didn't even need a jacket!
We have made it a tradition in the Bowman family to make doughnuts on Halloween to hand out to all of our friends that come trick or treating. Ok ok we mostly make them so that we can eat them ha ha ha, but we decided it would be nice to share them too.
I got the kids ready and headed over to grandma and grandpa's. Maycee made the prettiest Snow White and Samuel was my cute little Jack 'o Lantern..Eric had class so he came when he got home.
We made it just in time to help grandma cut out some doughnuts...Maycee was such a big help ha ha trying to grab and squish all of the doughnuts that were trying to rise on the table, and sitting right at our feet playing with her babies.. and Samuel took a nap :)
Grandpa got home from work and didn't hesitate to start cooking up the doughnuts. I don't know about you, but I love the smell of cooking doughnuts! Grandma took her place at the table and began glazing.
Eric came over just in time to taste the first batch. I think he ate 6 in about 15 seconds :)
DeGraffenrieds  showed up shortly after with Brooklyn as a witch,
Noah as Batman, Anna as a princess, and little Chloe as a lion.
Maycee was scared to death of Noah's mask, she wouldn't go anywhere near him.
We then took some doughnuts to Charles and Melissa in Payson and only visited for a bit because we had tired kids that were sooo ready for bed.
Anyway that is our night I will upload pics later because they are on my moms camera.

Halloween fun

Every year we gather at grandma and grandpa's house to carve pumpkins. It is so much fun now that all the kids are getting involved!
MIA: Kristen Spencer Van(in the basement watching the BYU game)
and Grandpa(taking pictures) and Grandma(entertaining Chloe and Sam)
Maycee wanted to swim in the bowl of pumpkin guts :)
(hmm wonder where she gets that from)
Since we wouldn't let her jump in the bowl she decided throwing the guts
all over the place was just as fun.
Man she is good!

 All lit up
 Eric's masterpiece!
 Pretty sweet eh?
We are all looking forward to Halloween night
 and making DOUGHNUTS!

Mommy's shoes...

Maycee has discovered the shoes in my closet... She walks better in them than I do.She is such a cutie!

Home owners baby!

It has been a while since I have blogged because we were finally able to move into our home! So between unpacking taking care of two babies and everything in between I just didn't have time... To start off we ended up getting A LOT of help moving... thanks to family and friends we were able to move everything in one evening! So I just wanted to say thanks to all who helped we couldn't have done it without you!

I have no idea how we fit all of this on our apartment...oh and the basement is full of boxes also :)
Anyway we have finally got most of the boxes emptied though we still have the junk boxes we need to go through...Eric made me some wonderful shelves for our food storage and oh how I love them! I did try to help him build these shelves ha ha, but he ended up drilling a hole through my finger while I was holding the board he was putting a screw in... So I decided that wasn't something I wanted to do anymore :) I got a tetanus shot and after a few painful weeks it healed up. Even though I will not ever let him live it down I still love him :) A few days after I got a hole in my finger I pulled a muscle in my back trying to lift some heavy boxes, so all of our unpacking got set back a few more days... But we are finally able to live normal now without digging through boxes trying to find everything we need...And we love love love having a home!

Closing on our house!!

We found out last night that we get our papers back today for closing but we have to wait til Monday because that is the next business day...That is good enough for me! Moving is going to be quite the adventure! We live in a basement right now and we have A LOT of stuff to carry up those stairs...And the fact that we will be moving in the middle of the week means we wont be getting help because everyone else will be working. It may take a while but I think we can do it(cross our fingers). Wish us luck!

A Frustrating Day!

Don't get me wrong I love my life and am grateful for everything I have..but when things don't work out like they should it is so frustrating! So to start out the day I decided to track a package I was suppose to get like 2 days ago..So I call customer service and they tell me to look it up on the UPS website. I found out that UPS couldn't deliver a package to me because "they couldn't find the address"and to call the sender...not a big deal, I call customer service and they tell me UPS just took it to the post office so I could pick it up there. So I have my sister pick it up for me while she is out and about only to find out they had already sent it back to "The Childrens Place".. so calling them back, for the third time already, I find out that once the package is returned, there is nothing I can do but be refunded my money even though I had nothing to do with them not finding my address and I went to the post office as soon as I found out it was there...I never once got a phone call telling me about the situation! Now this wouldn't be such a problem but the package consisted of an entire winter wardrobe for both of my kids including boots! All for under 100 bucks! I got some awesome sale prices and was so happy that I was done shopping for kids winter clothes! Anyway customer service for "The Childrens Place" sucks! She simply told me there is nothing she can do. They did not try to help me out AT ALL! And the lady was so rude! So, I am getting my money back so that I can shop elsewhere! Ok it as all out of my system now...you may be rolling your eyes at me and that is ok. Sometimes i just have to vent! I am sure you can understand that.
So not even 20 minutes after that happened I find out we can't close on our house yet because we included the fridge in our loan, and the government says that since the fridge is not connected to the house it holds no value so you cannot include it in the loan...So, here we have been waiting to hear back from rural housing for a WEEK, so that we can close on our house and they finally call and tell us that....WHATEVER! It is so ridiculous! We were really looking forward to moving this weekend but it doesn't look like it is going to happen...We aren't that lucky obviously...
Just a warning ....DO NOT EXPECT ME TO BE HAPPY TODAY!

Cobweb Cookies!

I love the holidays because there are so many fun treats to make...and EAT! :)
So only six out of  like 24 of these turned out ha ha but thats ok it was just for fun!
After dusting with powdered sugar
I thought they turned out AWESOME!
And they are yummy!
I guess that is what I get for leaving a chair by the counter..I turned my back for one second! Which was more then enough time for "ninja" Maycee to start pulling them off the counter.. This is her "It wasn't me" face.

So I let her eat all the ones she broke. She was sooo happy!

Sam The Man

Sam is such a happy little boy! We are so blessed to have such a good baby :)
This is Sam's favorite place to be :)

He loves to be able to see me if I am in the kitchen( ->)

Maycee felt left out... She loves to get her picture taken!

Apples Galore!

Today I spent hours and hours and hours making apple pie filling, some apple pie(I didn't help make the pie but I was watching Meghan and mom make it), and even some apple sauce, with Meghan, Mom, Dad and all the kids! It was a bit crazy at times(every kid cried at least once, and sometimes more than one at once) but oh so worth it for the yummy pie filling!
"Best job EVER!"...The kids got to wash the apples in a big bowl of water

Apples peeled and sliced

Meghan and mom putting the apples and syrup stuff into jars and boiling them

Doesn't it look yummy!

Maycee helped by biting every apple she could get her hands on

TaDa!

Me and Magoo

Boiling the peels and cores to make apple sauce

All done!

Little Miss Maycee Moo

Her first time experiencing the olive fingers. She didn't know quite what to do at first.

But she figured it out quickly

Maycee found the Q-Tips
At least she knows what they are for

She knows they go in her ear, she just hasn't figured out how to take them out

Maycee does this silly face so we tried to get it on camera while she was eating

This one is a little better

Finally a Blogger!

I decided to start blogging so that I could have an escape from all of my insanity! Don't get me wrong, I love my kids and husband with all of my heart, but every once in a while I do need an escape! So, I am going to try Blogging, because Facebook just gets old way to fast :)
